Steamed bao buns with crispy tofu
A perfect combination of a fluffy steamed bao bun and a crispy fried tofu together with a spicy mayo.
What you need:
1 packet of frozen bao buns
1 packet of firm tofu
1 dl cornstarch
1 dl neutral oil
Spicy mayo:
4 tbsp mayonnaise
1 teaspoon sriracha
1 tsp Japanese soy
1 tsp sesame oil
Vegetables:
1/2 cucumber
2 green onions
1 red chili
How to cook?
1. Mix together the ingredients for the sauce.
2. Shred the cucumber and green onion and cut the chili into thin slices.
3. Cut the tofu into 1 cm thick blocks. Pour the cornstarch into a plate and bread the tofu pieces. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the tofu on both sides until golden and crispy.
4. Steam the bao bun according to the instructions on the package.
5. Serve the bao buns with the crispy tofu, the spicy mayo and vegetables.
